Pastor Miller served as the Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church from 1977-2014 (36+ years), the longest serving pastor in the history of the church. He came as an Assistant Pastor in 1976 and was instrumental in starting First Baptist Christian School, serving as its Administrator until it closed in 2012. He also grew up at FBC.
After graduating from Mishawaka High School in 1961, he attended Bob Jones University, earning a B.S. in Speech Education. After two decades of ministry, he entered the graduate program at Bob Jones, earning his M.M. in 1994. He was honored with a Doctor of Divinity from Northland International University in 2010. Before coming to First Baptist, he served as a Christian school teacher and an administrator in two Christian schools.
He and his wife, Liz, live in Mishawaka. They have been blessed with two daughters who, along with their families, are devotedly serving the Lord. Christie, the oldest, is married to Paul Whitt, and Carrie is married to Mark Combs. The Millers thoroughly enjoy their six grandchildren.
